I’ve been flying Aegean Airlines for more than fifteen years. Not that long ago, I wrote a review of the company’s business class, which I still find one of the best when it comes to intra-European flights. Since I’m a Gold Member, I often fly business class, and shooting photos of Aegean’s inflight meals has become a habit. However, it only recently came to my mind to actually write about the Aegean Airlines Business Class menu.
Most of these photos are taken with my smartphone, and I never thought I’d write a separate article about it. These photos served only one purpose -no, it was never about Social Media. Every journey abroad starts with a flight, and I somehow wanted my camera roll to start with something from the airplane.
As I wrote in my review, Aegean has a very generous business class. This also reflects on the in-flight meals and I believe they elevate the whole experience. Moreover, the anticipation of a tasty meal up in the clouds makes the time go by quicker. Now, add the extra legroom in the equation and you can easily understand why it often justifies the extra cost.
Therefore, in this article, I will present photos from the Aegean Airlines Business Class menus I enjoyed throughout the years. You will see the written menu and then a photo of the meal. Please keep in mind that these photos were never meant to be shared. That said, the photos might look identical, but I can assure you that every meal was a unique and delicious experience.

Aegean Airlines Business Class Menu: A photo report

As a Gold Member of Aegean Airlines, you are entitled to four business class upgrades per year. This means that even if you can’t afford the cost of a business class flight, you can still upgrade your regular ticket and enjoy the company’s prime services. Flying business class also comes with some extra perks, like two checked-in suitcases, access to the Business Class Lounges, fast security check, and priority boarding.
So, after this short introduction, here starts the photo report of the Aegean Airlines Business Class Menu.
Athens to Berlin Business Class Menu

I traveled several times per year between Athens and Berlin. Athens is the city where I grew up, and Berlin is the place I have called home for the past one and a half decades. Apparently, I can’t always afford business class flights, but whenever I have Gold Member vouchers or the price is fair, I book a business seat with Aegean.
In-flight Meal No. 1

This Aegean menu consists of Greek salad with cherry tomatoes, caper leaves, and feta cheese. The main dish I chose was a Salmon fillet in honey and citrus fruit, celeriac puree, and asparagus. There was also Manouri cheese and Graviera Steiakakis on the side. The dessert was Chocolate cake.
In-flight meal No. 2

For starters, there were fresh vegetables and quinoa salad. The main dish was Chicken fillets with Anthotyro Cheese (a soft, light cheese from Greece), roast sauce, and potato puree in truffle oil. Two sorts of Graviera cheese were on the side (Spilia and Naxos). This time, the dessert was orange almond tart.
In-flight meal No. 3

The starter was beetroot salad with orange, baby carrot, and tzatziki from goat cheese. This time, I chose the sea bass fillet marinated with fresh herbs, oven-baked tomato risotto, and marjoram for the main course. Aegean’s chefs love Manouri cheese and Graviera Steiakakis, so these were on the side.. The semolina halva was served as a dessert.
In-flight meal No. 4

This time there was nicoise salad with fresh green beans, lettuce, vegetables, a hard-boiled egg, smoked tuna, anchovy fillet, olives, and capers as a starter. The main course was veal in lemon and oregano sauce with creamy au gratin potatoes. The typical assortment of cheese was on the side, while the dessert was baklava with grated pistachio.
In-flight meal No. 5

This lunch consisted of avocado cream with salmon and kohlrabi. The main course I picked was sea bass with lemon sauce, asparagus, and artichoke flan. Manouri and Graviera were on the side, and the dessert was revani with masticha cream and grated pistachio.
Athens to Bilbao Business Class Menu
Bilbao has been on my radar for several years. It’s only recently, though, that I finally managed to visit the Basque Country, and luckily, there was a direct flight with Aegean. However, it was a rather spontaneous decision to fly to Bilbao, which meant a pricey flight. On the other hand, when I checked my Miles & Bonus account (Aegean’s miles program), I saw that I had enough miles to fly business class to and from Bilbao.
It was a good call: redeeming the miles saved me approximately 800 euros and offered me a relaxing, almost-4-hours flight.
In-flight Meal No. 1

The flight from Athens to Bilbao was an early morning one, and this meant that the business class would have a proper breakfast. It consisted of a fresh fruit platter with Manouri cheese. I chose for the hot entree the salty cake with mushrooms, cheese Arseniko from Naxos island, Kasseri cheese from Xanthi, and scrambled eggs. The dessert was morning rolls and croissant with butter marmalade and yoghurt. Of course, there was also coffee, and I ordered an espresso.
In-flight meal No. 2

The return flight from Bilbao was late in the afternoon. This meant a fuller menu compared to the first flight. This time I had chicken fillet with lemon and oregano sauce, warm broccoli salad, and potato puree.
Athens to Ljubljana Business Class Menu
Unlike Bilbao, my flight to Ljubljana was probably the cheapest Aegean business class flight I ever booked. A couple of factors contributed to that, thought. The Athens-Ljubljana itinerary was newly introduced, and I embarked on one of the first flights to visit the beautiful capital of Slovenia. Apart from booking early, Aegean wanted to promote the route and offered a discounted price for the first few days.
For this return business class flight, I spent what I usually pay for economy between Athens and Berlin. Even though it was a two-hour flight, it was a true bargain.
In-flight Meal No. 1

The early morning flight to Ljubljana meant that breakfast would be served. This was a fresh fruit platter with cheese, and I chose the muffin with chicken and master cheese paired with scrambled eggs for the hot entree. There were also the usual morning rolls and croissant with butter, marmalade and yoghurt on the side.
In-flight Meal No. 2

Despite the mediocre photo, the breakfast was delicious. It consisted of fruits and cheese paired with scrambled eggs with tomato sauce, smoked paprika, and feta cheese.
Athens to Bologna Business Class Menu
The flight to Bologna was equally short. This time, though, there was a discount on redeeming miles, and I thought it was an excellent opportunity to book another business class flight with Aegean. Since I was going on a Tuscany road trip with friends, I knew I had plenty of days ahead. A relaxing start was a must for this trip. From Bologna airport, it took a couple of hours to reach Siena, and since the flight was early in the morning, Aegean’s business class comfort was highly appreciated.
In-flight meal No. 1

The breakfast was somewhat identical to the Ljubljana flight. Instead of the scrambled eggs, I chose the oven-baked omelet sfougato served with cherry tomato and Spilia Graviera cheese.
Athens to Malta Business Class Menu

I didn’t plan to fly business class to Malta. I traveled off-season to Malta, and the prices were relatively cheap. However, when I was about to book my flight, I thought of checking my Miles & Bonus account. And it was good, I checked. I soon realized that I’d finally get the Gold Card if I booked a return business class. It was tempting and I decided to splurge. The free check-in luggage, the access to the lounge before a flight, and the fast check-in were enough reasons to pay the extra cash.
I didn’t care about the lifestyle status at all; however, after flying for so many years, I thought that this would offer a smoother experience both when flying and while on the ground. I never regretted it.
In-flight Meal No. 1

For the way to Valletta, the starter was salad Mesclun with red peppers, cherry tomato, and vinaigrette. I chose the roasted sea bass fillet with vegetables and vegetable sauce, and on the side, there were two sorts of Graviera. There was also a Serano chocolate cake as a dessert.
In-flight meal No. 2

The appetizer was rocket leaf salad with smoked chicken Apaki, pomegranate, croutons, mizuna, cardamom, and linseed. The main course was grilled veal fillet with caper sauce served with parsley potato mash, sautéed spinach, and cherry tomato confit. On the side, there was Graviera from Crete and San Michali cheese from Syros, while the dessert was a delicious chocolate ganache with orange.
How to book your Business Class flight with Aegean Airlines

If you are tempted by the Aegean Airlines Business Class menu and you’d like to taste the inflight meals, you can book your tickets directly via the company’s website.
In general, flying off-season will give you better chances to find cheaper business class flights. However, you’ll have much better chances to find fair prices if you are a bit flexible with your dates. Sometimes, even a day or two can have significant price differences.
And here’s a tip for your Aegean flights. If you plan to visit Greece more than once, it definitely deserves creating a Miles & Bonus account to collect miles. Although acquiring the Gold Status might be challenging if you’re not a frequent flyer, it’s beneficial to slowly collect miles. Remember that Aegean is a Star Alliance Company, which means you can collect miles on every Star Alliance Flight.
Aegean Airlines Business Class Menu: Final Thoughts

Flying Aegean Airlines has always been a pleasant experience. The crew is polite, the planes are spotless, and the business class experience is much better than most European airlines. Aegean’s business class menu is always created by top Greek chefs like Christoforos Peskias, Lefteris Lazarou, and Stelios Parliaros, giving the company an extra layer of prestige.
Aegean offers a wide variety of wines and spirits, so if you enjoy drinking a bit of alcohol during the flight, make sure to taste a Greek wine. One thing that I must note here is that Aegean serves food even in its short domestic business class flights. For example, the cover photo of this article is the food served on a 40-minute flight from Athens to Crete. Kudos, Aegean.
I hope you enjoyed this photo report from the Aegean Airlines Business Class menu and the in-flight meals. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments and, most importantly, enjoy your flights.
