Description
12 Travel Writing Tips: an ebook in pdf
The 12 Travel Writing Tips is the extended version of my mini travel writing course. In this ebook, I’ve written down all the techniques that I use for writing my travelogues.
Why travel writing matters
As a published writer for over a decade, I’m happy to share my travel writing knowledge. For me, travel writing is the ultimate way of sharing our experiences, and that’s why I decided to write this ebook: to help you write about your adventures in the best possible way.
But, simultaneously, travel writing is very personal; therefore, I don’t want to block your creativity. What I plan to do instead is to help you define your inner voice and let your writing flow. The tips that I’m offering here should not be seen as a language course, though.Â
Instead, in this ebook, I’ll show you how I write travelogues for more than a decade, and I’m sure that these tips will help you organize your travel writing. Writing travel literature has nothing to do with writing lists: travelogues are long travel articles that try to capture a place’s essence. As travel writers, we don’t want the readers to just go through our text; we want them to teleport to our travelogue destination. The reader has to feel that he or she is there, with us.
What to expect from the 12 Travel Writing Tips ebook

In this ebook, I will share with you 12 essential tips that will help you improve your travel writing drastically. That’s how I exactly write, and that’s how I structure both my travelogues and my mind before (or while) doing travel writing. Specifically:
- What you need before you start writing about your journeys.
- When it’s the best time to write.
- What to avoid while writing.
- How to narrate.
- When to use dialogue.
- How to find angles.
- Using details.
- How to use foreshadowing.
- How to describe a place.
- Why you have to be visual.
- How to add the final touches before sharing your text.
- Why your voice matters.
A few facts about the 12 Travel Writing Tips ebook

- The ebook is 20-pages long. Together with the cover and the index, it’s 24 pages.
- I preferred a PDF file instead of an epub. The reason is that I didn’t want you to download extra apps for reading it.
- Each entry is 1-2 pages long.
- I’ve been working on this ebook for approximately four months.
- There are no photos on the ebook. I thought of not adding any photos because it might distract you from reading it; this is an ebook about travel writing, after all.
- You will also receive an extra PDF. This is a printable file where you can find in an infographic all the 12 Travel Writing Tips. You can print it out, and you can have it at all times with you when traveling and writing. Make sure to save it also on your smartphone.
- The text contains a few links to selected articles on my website. There is also an extra chapter with my Resources, where you can find useful info on how to run a travel blog, what gear I’m using, a list of travel books, etc.
- The 12 Travel Writing Tips ebook costs 7,50 euros. After purchasing it, you can download it immediately.
- You can read the 12 Travel Writing Tips ebook on any device: desktop, laptop, tablet, smartphone. However, keep in mind that you’d better use the landscape mode for reading it on your smartphone. While the portrait mode will work just fine, the truth is that you might have to zoom in sometimes. Reading should be a pleasant thing, though: go for the landscape mode.
- Due to the nature of digital products, the ebook is non-refundable, and all sales are final.
