Description
How The Cyclades explained ebook can help you
Being one of the most desired destinations worldwide, the Cyclades attract millions of travelers every year. While some people are interested in seeing just one island, like Santorini or Milos, most visitors prefer to see as much as possible. That said, doing island-hopping in the Cyclades remains one of the best things to do in Greece.
The Cyclades islands thrived during the Early Bronze Age, and traces of the Cycladic civilization can still be found in the archaeological sites of several islands. Nowadays, though, this world-famous Greek island group is mainly known for its stunning beaches and rough landscape.
However, despite their fame, the differences between the Greek islands are sometimes significant. While one can always expect whitewashed houses and friendly locals, these are probably the only similarities that you’ll find in the Cyclades. Some islands have better beaches than others, some of them have no nightlife. For example, do you know the differences between Folegandros and Sikinos? Or, which of the beautiful Greek islands has an airport?
Moreover, it’s not for granted that you can just hop on a ferry and reach the ones you want. Not every Cycladic island connects with the other, even if it lies just a couple of nautical miles away. Therefore, planning your ideal island-hopping tour around the Greek isles might be challenging, especially if you want to see the most remote of them. For example, you can’t go directly from Amorgos to Anafi even if the two islands seem close.
And that’s what this ebook about the Cyclades wants to solve.
What’s on the ebook about the Cyclades and the island-hopping routes

As a Greek, and after traveling for more than 20 years in the Cyclades, I decided to write this ebook. I wanted to share everything I discovered while traveling in the Aegean Sea. That said, I set two goals for this ebook.
The first goal was to explain what to expect from every inhabited island of the Cyclades. I analyzed all of these islands, providing enough information about each island’s style, the ways to reach, and accommodation tips. Moreover, I added some quick facts about each island, like its population, if there’s an airport and one-two must-sees.
The second goal was even more ambitious. As I wrote earlier, not every island connects to the rest. The Cyclades seem to occupy just a tiny area in the Aegean Sea; however, you can’t always expect a ferry to bring you to the next one. So, I researched hundreds of available routes, and I created the best island hopping routes for the Cyclades.
Instead of losing time with endless searching and planning, you can follow these routes. In these itineraries, you can find all direct connections between the Cycladic islands without worrying about losing time in transit. Moreover, at the bottom of each itinerary, I added a short note about for whom each route is: families, couples, solo travelers, etc. Apart from that, you’ll also read about the ideal length of each island-hopping route.
In the 12 island hopping routes presented in this ebook, the focus is not only on famous islands like Mykonos, Paros, or Naxos. In my opinion, the beauty of the Cyclades lies off-the-beaten-path in islands like Donoussa, Folegandros, or Anafi.
Therefore, you’ll find itineraries combining big and small islands, routes for hiking or art lovers, and also travel tips about visiting the Cyclades.
Structure of my island-hopping ebook

There are several posts about the Greek islands on my blog -and there are billions of images on the Internet. However, the core information provided in this ebook is not available online.
And that’s exactly what I decided to do: instead of adding loads of images and sacrificing book space, I thought of not adding images. You will only see 5-6 photos on the ebook’s pages. Everything else is just text containing helpful info for your Greek islands vacation.
While reading the ebook, you’ll also come across underlined sentences. These are all clickable links, and they’ll guide you to dedicated posts on my blog. The ebook doesn’t contain any affiliate links.
A few facts about the Cyclades ebook
In this section, you’ll find some quick facts about the ebook.
- The ebook is 48-pages long.
- I preferred a PDF file instead of an epub. The reason is that I don’t want you to download extra apps for reading it if you don’t have an ebook reader.
- There are just 4-5 photos in the ebook. I wanted to provide as much core info as possible, and I preferred skipping the images. However, if you’d like to see my Cyclades images, some dedicated links in the ebook will drive you to specific posts on my blog.
- All underlined words in the ebook are clickable, and they’ll bring you to dedicated posts on the blog.
- You can read the ebook on any device: desktop, laptop, tablet, smartphone. However, keep in mind that it’s better to use the landscape mode for reading it on your smartphone. While the portrait mode will work just fine, the truth is that you might have to zoom in sometimes. Reading should be a pleasant experience, though: go for the landscape mode.
- Due to the nature of digital products, the ebook is non-refundable, and all sales are final.
After finishing, The Cyclades explained.
