How to travel solo as an introvert: an ebook (PDF)
How to travel solo as an introvert is a collection of my habits and a presentation of my mindset when traveling on my own. I’ve been traveling solo for more than fifteen years, but it wasn’t that easy initially. I define myself as an introverted guy -and in former times, one could even call me antisocial. That said, I also know the feeling of wanting to travel alone but not giving it a try. Writing this small ebook was a hard task: I had to think of all the elements that make solo traveling possible.
But can you really travel alone if you’re an introvert?
Of course -but I guess you know it already. All it takes is some courage and revising your mindset somehow. As I previously wrote, I was too scared to travel alone in my early 20s. I thought I’d get bored because it was hard for me to talk to strangers. Other times, I’d worry that no one would help me if something occurred. Despite wanting like crazy to go on a journey by myself, I kept postponing it. But then, one day, I decided to do it. I was terrified. And yes, you guessed it right: I had the time of my life, and I wanted to do it again.
I started traveling solo as often as I could. In every journey, I would observe myself, my habits, and the things that I enjoyed the most. Then, I would try to figure out what was bringing me stress. For example, the idea of eating on my own made me feel uncomfortable. So, where should I sit in a cafe in order to feel more relaxed? Slowly, I started replying to such questions.
The process took time -but that’s always the case in life. I replied to most of the questions, but I still search for new answers. But after fifteen years of solo traveling, I feel comfortable, and I don’t get stressed at all. The best part? I don’t mind eating or drinking alone if I have to, and it’s actually something that I also enjoy doing back home. Yes: I enjoy it.
Why I wrote an ebook
A couple of months ago, I exchanged some e-mails with one of the most loyal readers of the Letters to Barbara. He shared his passion for traveling with me, but he also mentioned that he felt uncomfortable when traveling alone because he is an introverted guy. After writing to each other for a few days, I started thinking about the travel tips I could offer him. And that’s how I ended up writing this short ebook.
What to expect from How to travel solo as an introvert

This is a short ebook -and it’s short on purpose. I know how the mind of an introverted person works: things can escalate quickly. That said, give an introverted person too much information about something that he/she loves but scares him/her, and you’ll block them in no time. Although I could write a much longer ebook, I skipped the idea. I wanted to write something that would be helpful and to the point. In other words, I wanted to write the small book I’ve been searching for when I wanted to travel alone for the first time.
So I started thinking about what I could fit in such an ebook without making it tiring for the reader. Too many tips would make it hard to read and even harder to remember them while traveling. Instead, I decided to write only the best of them, which gave me comfort when I was on the road. Where to stay if you are an introverted person? Where to sit in a cafe on your own? Or, what to do when you feel like socializing on a solo journey? I made a list, and I wrote everything down in short installments.
I focused mainly on tips to keep you relaxed while you are traveling alone. But, of course, I also added some advice on how to socialize potentially. You don’t have to change your character, no. After all, the point is to enjoy a solo journey with the best company you can have: yourself. And trust me, it works.
While my other ebooks are more extensive, this one is compact. The ebook’s main body (where I analyze what helped me the most) is 12 pages long. Two more pages are interesting to read, the introduction and the epilogue. With the cover, index, and resources, the How to travel solo as an introvert has 19 pages.
After buying the ebook
You have the option to subscribe to my mailing list when you purchase the ebook (there’s a dedicated field after filling in your address). This is, of course, free of charge. If you decide to subscribe, you will receive three free printables, one every week. I thought of not sending all of them at once because I wanted these printables to be a reminder of your upcoming solo journey. In other words, consider these printables as an extra motivation to embark on your solo adventure.
By subscribing, you will occasionally receive some extra tips if they fit in the concept. I will never send you useless suggestions just for the sake of sending an additional e-mail. That’s lame. Last but not least, you will also receive periodically (usually twice per month) updates from my travel blog.
A few facts about the How to travel solo as an introvert ebook
- The ebook is 12-pages long. Together with the cover, the index, the introduction, and the epilogue, it’s actually 19 pages.
- I preferred, once again, a PDF file instead of an epub. The reason is that I didn’t want you to download extras apps for reading it.
- The entries are short. Some of them are half a page, while others cover a full page.
- I’ve been working on this ebook for one month.
- There is only one photo on the ebook. I thought of not adding any extra pictures because it might distract you from reading it; this is an ebook about traveling solo, not about photography.
- The text contains a few links to selected articles on my website. There is also an extra chapter with my Resources, where you can find useful info on how to run a travel blog, what gear I’m using, a list of travel books, etc.
- How to travel solo as an introvert costs 5 euros. After purchasing it, you can download it immediately.
- You can read the ebook on any device: desktop, laptop, tablet, smartphone. However, keep in mind that you’d better use the landscape mode for reading it on your smartphone. While the portrait mode will work just fine, the truth is that you might have to zoom in sometimes. Reading should be a pleasant experience, though: go for the landscape mode.
- Due to the nature of digital products, the ebook is non-refundable, and all sales are final.
