Travel Gear

3 days in Berlin travel guide itineraries Travel & Street Photography recap V cover

This is the travel gear I use for running this website. As you might already have read in the FAQ section, my motto is “If it doesn’t fit in my bag, then I don’t need it.” I am a firm believer in traveling light; therefore, I always try to carry only the necessary equipment with me. The gear I use might not work for everyone, of course. For a more extensive version, please check my gear for minimalists: there, you will find how exactly I chose each one of the devices.

The links used in this article are affiliate links. It means that if you purchase an item by following the links, I might earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. I have added links to the American Amazon, but all the links will open to your closest Amazon Store. In addition, I have also written a short Affiliate Disclaimer, where you can read more about the affiliate marketing used on the website.

Travel Gear: the six things I always have with me

Sony a6300

Sony GR ii travel gear

The Sony a6300 is my primary camera. It’s a 24 MP APS-C camera, and it’s lightweight. It can also shoot 4K videos.

The Sony 35 f/1.8 is my portrait lens. It’s a very sharp and fast lens, ideal for night shots too.

MacBook Pro 13″

I use a MacBook Pro 13″ to write and post-process photos and videos. I’m using the 256 GB version. I highly recommend it.

Lacie 2 TB Hard Drive

The Lacie external hard drives provide enough capacity and high speed, thanks to the USB-C. I use the 2 TB version.

Ricoh GR ii

This is my street photography camera, the most lightweight APS-C camera ever. I always have it with me.

Travel Gear: The things that I use occasionally

Fuji Instax Wide

Travel Gear - Instax WideI sometimes carry the Fuji Instax Wide camera with me. It’s definitely a bit bulky, but I like the Wide-format compared to the Mini one. Plus, I always like to have some printed photos from my journeys. 😉

Instax Color Film

travel gear - instax color 2The film I mainly shoot with the Instax. The colors look great as long as the light is not that strong. This is the film I prefer for landscape and urban photos. Sold in packets of two, which translates to 20 shots.

Instax B&W Film

travel gear - instax wideI’ve been looking forward to the Black and White Wide film. For my taste, I would prefer some more contrast, but the B&W still looks good and sharp. So I use it mainly for portraits. Sold in single packets, which translates to 10 shots in total.
